Buying Perfume Oil by the Kilo: 1 kg Wholesale Prices and What to Check

How 1 kg perfume oil pricing works, what to check before buying by the kilo, and shipping notes for buyers in the UK, India and Australia.
Kilo quantities of fragrance oil: aluminium 1 kg bottle on a scale, larger aluminium canisters and a blue drum, amber bottles in rising sizes, 10 ml sample vials and a beaker of oil

Buying perfume oil by the kilo makes sense once you have tested a scent and know it sells: at Aroma Labs a 1 kg pack of our Vanilla Brown Sugar oil costs AED 957 in the Signature grade, against AED 147 for 100 ml, so the kilo works out far cheaper per unit. Before you order, check the grade, the price per pack size, the documents and the shipping cost to your country, and always test a 10 ml sample first.

This guide shows how kilo pricing works on our store, what to check on any 1 kg listing, and what buyers in the UK, India and Australia should plan for when ordering from the UAE.

How kilo pricing works

Store prices are in AED. Each oil has its own price, and many oils come in two grades, Signature and Essential, each priced separately. The table below uses our Vanilla Brown Sugar oil, which matches Kayali Vanilla 28, as a worked example with prices shown on its product page on 29 October 2026.

Pack size Signature grade Essential grade Best for
Sample, 10 ml AED 45 AED 45 Testing in your own base
100 ml AED 147 AED 136 First small batch
500 ml AED 493 AED 463 Short runs while sales build
1 kg AED 957 AED 772 A proven scent you restock often
5 kg to 50 kg On request On request Steady production

Ten 100 ml bottles of the Signature grade would cost AED 1,470, while one kilo costs AED 957. Two 500 ml packs come to AED 986. The kilo is sold by weight and the smaller packs by volume, so treat this as a rough guide, but the saving is clear. Prices differ from oil to oil, so always compare on the product page of the scent you want. As a guide for USD buyers, AED 957 is about USD 261 at the fixed rate of AED 3.6725 to the dollar.

What to check on any 1 kg listing

  • Concentration: ask whether the oil is pure concentrate or already cut with a solvent such as DPG. A diluted oil can look cheap per kilo but fill fewer bottles.
  • Grade: if a supplier sells more than one grade, compare the same grade across pack sizes and test each one.
  • Price per pack: work out the cost per finished bottle, not only per kilo. Our guide on how much fragrance oil goes in perfume helps you estimate how many bottles one kilo fills.
  • Documents: get the IFRA certificate, SDS and COA for the exact oil before you scale up.
  • Restock rules: check what happens if the oil goes out of stock. With us, oils not in stock start at 5 kg.
  • Shipping: confirm the shipping cost and who pays import duties and taxes.

Shipping notes for the UK, India and Australia

We ship from the UAE to all three countries. Fragrance oils travel with an SDS, so ask for it along with your order. Import duties, VAT or GST are charged by your own country's customs, so check the current rules with your customs authority or courier before you order. An order over USD 300 ships free, so two kilos of the Signature grade in this example would qualify. Our guide on buying wholesale perfume oils from an overseas supplier covers invoices and customs in more detail.

Remember that we supply fragrance oils only. Perfumer's alcohol, carrier oils and bottles come from your local suppliers, which also keeps shipping simpler.
