Looking for fragrance oil suppliers in Australia? Most of them look similar at first glance. The real differences show up in the paperwork, the sample sizes, the minimum order and how fast the oil reaches you.
This guide gives you a quick checklist first, then six Australian suppliers worth a look, plus one overseas option. Every detail below comes from each supplier's own website, checked on 24 October 2026.
Quick checklist: what to look for
- IFRA certificate: it tells you the maximum safe amount for each product type. One oil can be fine in a candle and limited on skin. Our guide to IFRA categories explains how to read it.
- SDS (Safety Data Sheet): you need it for safe handling and your own product labels.
- Samples: test a few oils in your own wax or soap base before you buy in bulk.
- Minimums and pack sizes: check the smallest bottle, any order minimum, and the price per litre or kilo at the size you will really buy.
- Delivery: check dispatch times and shipping costs to your state, especially if you are outside the east coast.
Best fragrance oil suppliers in Australia
1. Luxaroma
Luxaroma is a fragrance house in Yatala, Queensland, with over 500 stocked fragrances made and blended at its own Australian facility. It sells from sample sizes up to 10 litres and more, with online volume pricing for bigger orders, and says stocked orders placed before 12pm on business days are usually dispatched the same day. It serves candle, home fragrance, perfume and soap brands.
2. Aussie Candle Supplies
Aussie Candle Supplies was established in 2005 and is based in Wangara, Perth, Western Australia. It is known for soy candle supplies and stocks over 200 fragrance and essential oils, all IFRA certified and tested in house for scent throw. There is no minimum order and it ships to every state and territory.
3. Pure Candle Supplies
Pure Candle Supplies is in Croydon, Victoria, and ships from its own Melbourne warehouse. It has more than 170 fragrance oils across four ranges, including a 100% natural range, and tags every oil with its vanillin level so you can avoid discolouration in white wax. SDS and IFRA documents sit on every product page, and 50 ml or 100 ml samples make testing easy.
4. CandleMaking
CandleMaking has its showroom and warehouse in Seven Hills, Sydney, New South Wales. Its fragrance concentrates are made in Australia, phthalate free and aligned with IFRA standards, and each one is tested for wax compatibility and scent throw. Oils that are suitable for body use are marked as such.
5. Wickii
Wickii has a showroom in Baringa, Queensland, and supplies candle, diffuser and soap businesses across Australia. It offers over 200 scents in 50 ml and 500 ml sizes, with volume pricing built in, and IFRA documentation is available. Its range covers candles, cold process and melt and pour soap, reed diffusers and room sprays, plus a native Australian scent collection.
6. Fragrance Innovation Australia
Fragrance Innovation Australia is a wholesale manufacturer in Beverley, South Australia, with ISO 9001 certified quality systems. It makes fragrance oils for personal care, soap, candles, diffusers, sprays and cleaning products, and creates custom blends to a brief. It works with a 20 kg minimum order, so it suits established brands more than hobby makers.
7. Aroma Labs (overseas option, ships from Dubai)
If you are happy to buy from outside Australia, Aroma Labs makes fragrance oils in Dubai and ships worldwide. In stock oils have no minimum order, and packs run from 100 ml to 50 kg, so you can start small and scale up. 10 ml samples cost AED 45 (about USD 12), and IFRA, SDS and CoA documents are available on request.
You can browse the full fragrance oil range or email ankit@aromalabs.store with questions. Before ordering from any overseas supplier, check delivery times and import charges for your own address. Our guide on buying fragrance oils from an overseas supplier covers what to ask.
How to pick the right one
Start with what you make. Candle and wax melt makers want strong hot and cold throw, and Australian summers make a heat stable wax and oil pairing worth testing. Soap and skincare makers need oils whose IFRA certificate allows skin use at the level they plan to use.
Then order samples from two or three suppliers, test them in the same base, and compare the results side by side. The best supplier is the one whose oils work in your product, with documents you can rely on.
FAQ
Do Australian fragrance oil suppliers provide IFRA certificates?
Most established suppliers do, either on the product page or on request. If a supplier cannot send an IFRA certificate and SDS, look elsewhere.
Can I use candle fragrance oil in soap?
Only if the IFRA certificate allows it for that category and at that level. Always check the certificate for each oil.
Can I buy fragrance oils from outside Australia?
Yes. Ask for the IFRA certificate and SDS first, and check delivery time and import charges before you place a bulk order.
How much should I buy first?
Start with samples or the smallest pack, run your test batches, then move to bulk once you are happy with the scent and performance.
